Amestoy EL Japanese Dual Language Program

YAMAMOTO comes to Amestoy!! We are so grateful to have the support and partnership of the LA Dodgers. Yamamoto came to read to the students with his teammate and fellow pitcher, Ryan Phillips. The two read the same book in both English and Japanese showcasing the great dynamic of dual language and English and Japanese collaboration. 

Our Japanese Dual Language Program teaches students in their core subjects in both  English and Japanese. Students have a regular school day that includes recess and lunch.

On March 4, 2024 our students and teachers were visited by the LAUSD Superintendent, General Sone of the Japanese Consulate and Board Member Tania Ortiz. We were so thankful to have them read to our students and speak with them about their experience in our wonderful dual language program.
