good morning amestoy Eagles and welcome to the Monday morning assembly where is so excited to have you all back and I hope that each of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving break and you took some time to enjoy family and friends and to relax and enjoy welcome back singing with Halo songs I am desperate I am fine I am so I'm very limited again good morning amestoy eagle and I hope that you're fine and you are great now it's time to get ready for Monday morning Energizer are you ready to move let's get ready do do do-do-do-do do-do-do-do is that ice cold Michelle Pfeiffer that white wait a minute Hollywood Jackson Mississippi Hallelujah give it to you wow I hope you got a good workout on that one now it's time for our Monday morning motivator being grateful leads to happiness so I'm sure that you guys had a lot of things to be thankful for and I hope that you spoke talked about it during your time off with your family but remember that gratitude leads to happiness this year a little bit more about it being thankful is important we can be thankful for our parents our family and our home being thankful is also called gratitude it takes practice when we can be grateful for the things in our lives even the little things we can begin to change the way we think shift our thoughts away from what we think we are lacking to what we have in abundance yeah we start steel awesome everything is and how great life can be did you know the Gratitude leads to happiness who does it happiness I know I do so here are 10 things big and small I am grateful for right now trees trees give us oxygen to breathe and when we breathe we live living is a great thing they bloom in the spring and make wonderful colors in the fall trees cake cake is good it means it's your birthday a special occasion or maybe you're having cake just add cake all I know is is soap good emojis we can communicate with words symbols hand gestures and facial expression but nothing is as much fun as emojis sleep there is nothing better than cozy under the covers I'm snuggled all type my hands have pulled the covers up under my chin my head is resting on my favorite pillow my mind thinks about all the awesome things that happened in my day then I'll fight sleepy time this leads to waking up and that's next on my list morning some people have a hard time getting up in the morning but we should be grateful that we have the chance to do amazing things each and every day so get up and go do something awesome Speaking of awesome ice cream what's not to like about ice cream I go to a place where you can mix your flavors at everything from sprinkles to gummy bear who wouldn't be thankful for Gummy Bears on ice cream vacation what's not to love about vacation you get to go places you things you've never seen before spend time with your fam relax have fun make memories vacations good stuff kittens their funny cuddly and play folk if you ever been around a kitten you know what I'm talking about I said kittens are good nice people thank you nice people thank you for not being mean let's all work to be a little nicer and last but not least by 5 why high fives we give high-fives when something is going great or we did something extraordinary and you need two people to high-five so you were sharing this awesome moment with someone else this makes high five fun and I am grateful for high-fives so that's my list of 10 things big and small I am grateful for right now remember gratitude takes practice so make it a habit of thinking about all the things you are grateful for what are you grateful for okay everyone I challenge you to come up with 10 things that you are grateful for and shared with someone I'm can't wait to hear who's going to share with me the same thing if they are grateful for big or small sorry good morning boys and girls good morning Alice. Eagles j a h word is commitment to we're going to go over daily self-affirmation to Jay the word is commitment and you have a lot of words on our list we've gone through quite a few words this year but today we're focusing on being committed so now I want you to look in the mirror and your head and say I am and then choose your word that you want to affirm about yourself I am I am committed commitment commitment means the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause or activity so if you're committed to something boys and girls and that means that you're focused on it and you willing to dedicate your time and your energy to it in order to be successful at whatever it is a cheap chosen to focus on whether it be soccer your school work providing services all of the first things are commitment and when you commit to something that's like making a promise and we all know how important it is to keep our promises so it is also equally important to keep our commitments commitment in something different for each person for example commitment to the boxer me getting up one more time that knocked down to the missionary it means giving up your comfort sister of others to the marathoner it needs running another ten miles when their strength is gone to the entrepreneur it needs putting in the grit to get the business up and running into the leader it means all of this and more because as a leader everyone is depending on you true commitment inspired and attract people when you're committed it shows others you have conviction Italy how's them to believe in you because you believe in your cause let's take a look at three options of what the true nature of commitment is first commitment starts in the heart commitment always precede achievement it's been said that heart is what separates the good from the great if you want to make a difference look into your heart to see if you're really committed second commitment is tested by accident the only real measure of commitment is Paxton it's one thing to say that you're committed but it's another to take action and do something about it and this third commitment opens the doors to achievement if you want to achieve anything you must be committed faced with obstacles and opposition it'll take real commitment to stay focused and get up and press on no matter how many times you've been knocked down successful people are successful because they're committed the bottom line. sometimes we think we're committed to something and yet our actions indicate otherwise let me give you a few questions you can ask yourself to help you measure your level of commitment one have you been reaching your goals are you achieving do you believe you can if you're a leader do people believe in you and do they follow you commitment starts at the heart folks the boys and girls remember is an act it's not a word people say things a lot and you're going to hear people say that they're going to do things a lot in your life but remember being committed to something is an action word are just words but unless you act upon those words they do not really mean anything have a great day and have a wonderful week commitment mean something different for wow these are our parents who came out on Saturday to participate in our parent workshops and parents who are getting tips on how to work are spoons n e l a w c your parents here make sure you give them a big high-five and let them know how much you appreciate them for coming out and learning more about Ela another picture here where our parents are video where they are time they are practicing fluency with their students let's take a look 23 give me the job. So parents out there who weren't at our parents Workshop students take time fluency test they have 1 minute to see how many words they can read in that one minute so we encourage all of you to practice fluency with your child all this is some exciting news we have a cultural or passport plan the plan was written and includes a lot of wonderful trips for our students so one of our first trip is going to the Hot Chocolate Nutcracker and it's going to be we're going on December 6th so I know teachers turned their names and of the students were to go not the whole school can go we can only take a certain number to each one Levy pants and boys and girls your attendance and your citizenship matters when making the selection for our trip so we're going to The Nutcracker and we're also going to go to The Lion King and you look old here where the passport is all of our students will have their very own passport for each event that they take part in we're also going to elad I think our little ones are going to Aladdin and we're going to have opera The Barber of Seville Opera for us to diaper free kid and your passport will be stamped for each event are you ready to get your Eagle passport stamped here's more places where we going to go we're going to go to m.j. the musical and the carnival of animals the All Aboard for traveling now let's look at our calendar November is almost over but we still have some exciting things going on this week this is our last week for our chocolate spells let's go and see who our top winner is going to be and on Tuesday we have our bank time you act meeting is at 8:30 and our School site council is at 2:40 and on Thursday we have our be step parent meeting at 5:30 so get ready and just a couple of other reminders if you need the zoom link for our meeting there in person or on the phone and let me move this so that you can see here are a zoom link if you need that also tomorrow is the last day to register for the winter Academy which will be held December 18th through the 20th and this year is going to be held at dinker elementary school so this is the website to sign up for a winter Academy we talked about our beats a parent meeting which is that 5:30 we talked about 1 December 6th is the hot chocolate nutcracker for grades three through five on the 7th we will be having coffee with the principal and on December 8th is the 75th day of school can't believe all the school year is flying by and we want everyone to wear your ugly holiday sweater although a lot of times on this day I see really cute sweaters here's our December calendar because on Friday will be December 1st wow so on Friday will be our last day for our chocolate self so make sure that you get everything in and by Friday Alright good morning everyone buenos dias Ohio so let's look at our chocolate fundraiser thank you so much to all the amestoy Google families that have helped us before going on on our break you know that it's a two-week fundraiser so we're continuing as miscreant indicated just as a reminder we are selling care call Crispin Allman it's a $1 per bar cash only and please please please above all students safety no door-to-door selling and as of today boys and girls the top three top-selling classes we have missed calls. The expectation is still the same we do expect everyone to have a hundred percent of attendance every single day even on very hot days even on rainy days so please come school every day we are approaching like mysterious at the 75th day of school I cannot believe that went by so fast so with that said if you're not sure where you are with your attendance you can always come in. myself or Miss Gwen but like I said you have been absent anywhere between zero to three times so you've been absent one or two days or three days you are still excellent. If you've been absent anywhere between 4 to 6 times you are on the basic and if you've been absent right now 7 or more times you are on chronic however on December 4th between now and December 4th for those students I know it's a little tricky but for those students that have been absent six times you are close to jumping the bad so you're going to go from chronic to basic so if you're one of those please come to me so that I can give you a special surprise if you are able to jump from that chronic to the base okay so I want to challenge again all of you to come to school every single day it's very important and boys and girls I have to say that I am a little disappointed because our chronic rate is 24.7% and that's very high and where he goes we're number one so we had to do much much better to increase the rate we want all to have excellent attendance and even if you're at seven days by the end of the year if you don't miss any more days you can still have excellent ending so let's try for that please we can do it okay so like we mentioned earlier the 17th the day is approaching so on Friday December 8th police rock your favorite Christmas sweater or your favorite ugly sweater so you can get creative and perhaps make your own sweater or just wear one that you already have at home 73rd day where your holiday sweater Angel okay so this is the reminder again to ever single featuring and classroom everyone that we are still doing the attendance challenge the remember for each day that we have that your classroom has 100% students present your class earned 1 points once you reach 15 points as a classroom you can pick the classroom reward that you all decide as a class so that can be a show-and-tell movie day bring your favorite book to school karaoke may be playing games whatever it is that you pick as a classroom you can do so when you when your classroom reaches 15 points so in order to reach 15 points you need to eat each one day that your classroom has a hundred percent of students present you earned one point okay and then when that does happen, and let myself Miss Gonzalez or miss with notes she can let me know that your classroom get received those something quite so that we can also give you all everyone alright so here we go still shout out to the following classrooms. had the most amount of students present for the last week that we were here before our Thanksgiving break so miss Lopez class kindergarten and ninety-seven percent Miss Lee's class first grade 94% ms-20 has caused 98% on Mr P sandals plus other great ninety-six percent missbella spots once again 96 percent and Miz Lillard sauce with great 98% so graduation all right which university will you attend I give any personal assistant so we have guess how many universities we've already looked at boys and girls and you see you're almost there there are 11 universities that we looked at of course we looked at you with Ellen you at Cal State LA we also did University of Wisconsin El Camino College John Hopkins at least talk to West College Stanford Dominguez Hills you CLA and yell and today we are going to be looking at La Trade Tech but before we do that let's think about what you want to become when you grow up I want to be a teacher when I grow up elementary teacher I like little kids a babysitter Charities for me Kaskade at Walmart the author of chapter books about mythical creatures and animals and things I want to be annoying or Kyla Tyler Perry a dad Apollo scientist scientist Killeen toddler mine for dinosaur bones and studies them YouTuber movie star favorite actor actor actor on stage on TV on Disney Channel Alabama police officers catch bad guys and superheroes Spider-Man I would like to go into the US Army because my grandma she loved the Army but she never went into the service lb turn African-American gymnast I want to be a national dancer dancer dancer dance teacher professional soccer player basketball football soccer player so I can never hurt you I did not know I'm still working on that maybe when I grow up I'll pick I already have a whole plan so the Air Force was 18 years became a businessman make my own company the cars I want to be a Pokemon trainer at Target a cake I want to be a popstar Rockstar finger finger finger I want to be a cupcake but I don't really know how to actually cook I want to be an artist on a sculpture I want to be an artist that goes around painting walls a artist a video game maker in the game designer I want to be a filmmaker whatever my dad is I'm not sure I'll see the doctor doctor doctor doctor a mermaid a mermaid doctor heart city cardiologists an ecologist pediatrician the kids doctor pediatrician and I want to be a doctor and then I can lower a bus with you I want to be a nurse very good at science and math I'm not really but I still want to be one animal veterinarian princess fairy new keeper bush people get paid play $9 so many options that you have and one pathway that can use it to your main job is attending a college so let's look at La Trade Tech so it's located here in La it has about 9150 students it costs about $1,196 per year and then guess what boys and girls if after financial aid you pay zero absolutely zero because Trade Tech has a special program that we're going to be learning it was founded in 1925 and is the oldest of nine two year colleges in the LA Community College District you complete each other program that can lead to a Career Technical certificate transfer also to another University you can also get an associate in arts degree or you can start looking for a job as soon as you graduate the tuition is free for the first year of college with the opportunity to quote 5 for the second year free free I love Ray so this is a good opportunity there's also if you're still thinking about maybe, just not right for me guess what they're still Bridge which happens during the summer before you actually start your semester that way you can get a little bit of a feel of the classes and you can go visit and take a class or two and be also able to walk around the campus and just have a good experience doing during the summer and you know it's going to be stress-free because it's not as intense as you would have it during the school year and also it's what you do cost of free Chromebook for all the students to attend La Trade Tech Delhi Trade Tech College college human resource yes this is the chef sending more people from Los Angeles Trade Technical College it has the most incredible place it is it's the most different college campus you'll ever be on the students bring it in they have so many different attitudes in in personalities you cannot help but be creative Trade Tech win the tip aspiring sign painters come here from as far away as South Korea because trade check has a program that is not available anywhere else it will be a fully functional fully operational house in the students now have real-world is building a residential unit from the ground up you find that you have to make students leave the class at the end they really want to be here and really want to pursue their craft and it's really inspiring people really get our students is very well connected with employers see before they even Levi campus I'm really honored to be here tonight around so many creative people the be interested in culinary arts be coming up a shop and cosmetology Carpenter a plumbing everything that requires an associate's degree that La Trade Tech right no cell phone use on campus this inside reminder to all of our students by now we should all be familiar with this policy that we have not only at a master but also throughout the district students may not use their cell phones while on campus cell phones must be put away in back text until school is over and just know that the in the vents of an emergency we have all student contact information and we will contact parents and Guardians are a master staff is not responsible for lost or stolen cell phone be safe be responsible be respectful we're starting off the week so boys and girls your challenge is to make sure that you when you use the restroom you go in you you restroom you flush the toilet you wash your hands and you walk out of the restroom and you go back to either your play area or your classroom depending on where you are so make sure that if there's any questions or anything that you see that's not correct we have people outside posted on outside of our restroom so you can always ask for help and support that's why they're there to help us to make sure that we keep our bathroom safe and respectful now it's time for Iraq for being safe being responsible and being respectful so remember the more loose
