good morning amestoy Eagles and welcome to the Monday morning assembly we have such a special school here because we are a multilingual Multicultural Magnet Academy where a Japanese dual-language and we're also SAS so I want to welcome everyone to our Monday morning at sembly for fair May 5th 2024 and we know that this month is Black History Month and we'll also have Lunar New Year and today is 100 day of school where everyone should have dressed as their favorite character I can't wait to see you on to get pictures and we want to thank you so much for coming out on this very very rainy wet morning time for a good morning I'm a story goes here we go with John and his breakfast busted on the way good morning it's time for school boys and girls rednecks fly shop now it's time for your Monday morning Energizer are you guys ready for the mini Disco If you're not let's get ready here we go Randy Randy everybody was a chuckle. glad that you're here this week our word for our daily self-affirmation is respect can everyone say I have respect respect awesome now look in the mirror and choose your own word what is your word for the day we have a lot of words that we've gone over all year long so if you can't think of one look over where it says words we've learned and give you a stop the affirmation that you need hold your mirror up boys and girls what is your word for the day my word is respect respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities qualities or achievement that just simply means you taking a consideration and you can appreciate what someone is doing and you're doing it with respect and now get ready for our video it's the respect song Let's see Donald Duck play Radiohead okay Boys and Girls Club where's the respect you heard her in the song you heard all the boys and girls that were saying it is treating other people the way that you want to be treated and remember if you want respect you have to give it an order to receive have a wonderful week everyone wow look at our boys and girls here the spirit of fear National Dan believe it or not our students are staying after school and they're learning drumming and they're going to put on a special performance for us I can't wait to see it kudos to our boys and girls for the spirit of international dance here we have more students participating in the spirit of international dance okay so this was the m.j. music off and we go somewhere special this month as well remember you going to share your experience you're going to tell about the special event what did you enjoy about the culture experience and what was your favorite part how will expansion pack your life what was the guiding principle of this event was a message received from any of these songs are events presented like for instance man in the mirror or Michael Jackson's light what would you like to share with it's about this experience and would you recommend this musical to others you'll be getting a document to put in your information from room 7 really really soon so the m j musically was a big hit do all of these are have been approved and complete it wow amestoy Eagles you're having such a wonderful experience with the cultural arts this year so on Sunday February 18th going to Lion King and then on March 16th Carnival of the animals get ready so that you can get your stamp approved for your passport and still what time is the Clippers on March 24th and Saturday May 11th we're going to Aladdin on on June 8th will be the Opera of the kids are you ready and boys and girls when you sign up please make sure that you attend and if there for some reason that you can attend please let us know because we paid lots of money for the tickets and we will be able to give someone else that opportunity so now these are dates to remember I see everyone on the team here has on their favorite book or movie character for the hottest day of school and on the like we're going to have our student of the month perfect attendance assemblies and you see there that's the only because we will have it hybrid and then on the 10th again as a reminder our spelling bee at 8:30 for early entry I asked everyone to please come out and celebrate Selena as she represents amestoy will be having our book fair on the 12th through the 16th and I know your loves to read because so do I will be having or book fair from 2:30 to 3:30 so come on in and get your books also Valentine's Day is coming so make sure you wear your red white and or pink to celebrate Valentine's Day in to show your love for each other make sure you show your love and also on the 15th will be having our old set 8 that's why second grade there's going to be a family webinar from 5:30 to 6:30 and the link is there please make sure you take a picture of this screen because we have lots of different things on the 60 we're going to have our January attendance Challenge and I know that Miss Gonzalez is going to tell you what it is and all the 19th where is no school for Presidents Day on the 20th we invite all of our parents to come out coffee with the principal at 8:30 in our parents Center which is located in Room 5 and on the 22nd there's a special treat for first grade only sorry but they're going to do operation teddy bear and every year we've been fortunate enough thanks to doctor pest to have it for first grade so kindergarteners you get ready next year you'll get to have operation teddy bear and on the 23rd we're having our black history program on the two 370 sorry like in School site council is going to be hybrid but due to budget development we will have to have a meeting prior to that you will be getting that information really really soon because our budget development is on the twenty and we need to have our budget approved prior to then so also we have our black history programs for Beats app on the 28th and 29th so make sure you come out and join us for all the special events that we have for the month of and as a reminder wear your African attire or green yellow and red on Fridays I think it's green black and red it should be green green I can read so I'm going to change that and here's our calendar which has covered most of the things on there but one thing that I do want to highlight is that on the 12th through the 16th or 5th grade will be taking their fitness test so boys and girls make sure you're getting in shape and you're ready we have our calendar here both in
