good morning everyone are you ready for a brand new day good morning how are you it's so nice to have you here with me today good morning how do you how do you do thanks so much the more about the batter howdy howdy hello we can't hear you you muted hey good morning again amestoy ego Welcome to our Monday morning assembly for March set 18 20 24 we just did our Good Morning Song now it's time for Monday morning motivator always RX Energizer I'm sorry let's get ready to get our exercise going for good health for kids Team Canada Bill flexibility and enhance your coordination neck exercises from front ready 1 2 3 4 okay now I'm going to do shoulder rotation ready one two three one two three four and five starting from the left to the right job-ready 123123123 103 the ingredients ready one two three one two three one two three three two three one two three one two three one two three one two three 2313 hope you got those bodies moving why you're going to take care of our women History Month Wars okay honoring women History Month March is women's History Month it's a time we set aside to honor women's contributions and science business Sports social movements and so many other fields for centuries in America women's contributions in the we're often overlooked as a result they were omitted from history that's why we celebrate women's history month and the opportunity it gives us all to get a more complete picture of our American history it's important that we use times like this that each new generation about those women we all know what Rosa Parks his refusal to surrender her seat to a white passenger on a bus helped launch the effort to end racial segregation in America what Susan Anthony an abolitionist who became one of the leading figures in the movement to gain the right to vote for women and like Clare Boothe Luce the first American woman appointed to a major Ambassador post this month also gives us an opportunity to learn about those women whose names we don't know as well like Alice ball and African American chemist who in the early 20th century developed the first successful treatment for leprosy a debilitating disease that once victims ostracized from society and like journalist Nellie Bly who posed at the mental patient in 1887 to go undercover in a women's mental asylum in New York City to expose the terrible condition patients were subjected to her report led to Lasting institutional reforms and mental health care and like him is Stephanie kwolek who in 1965 created a lightweight and durable new fiber that later became Kevlar which is used to create bulletproof vest and helmet to protect the laws of our law enforcement and military women have invented new medicines bought as Heroes on our Battlefield and enforce the laws in our communities they love me African slavery they have created businesses and built hospitals and they fought to secure their own right to vote women have played pivotal roles in building this country the United States would be the economic superpower and the world's Beacon of without their contributions on the homefront on the war front and in the workplace women have served and shaped our great nation That's Why women's history month is such an important opportunity for us to pause honor their profound contribution as we recognize them let's also honor the everyday women who make our families community's economy military and Nations March is women's History Month it's a Time going to look at to watch we got tickets for or when women in history the first is Sonia Sotomayor I'm going to read what it says to you right here is his after graduating from Yale law school Sonia Sotomayor served as assistant district attorney in New York before she was nominated to the US District Court by President George h.w. Miss Bradford Miss Diaz mr. Higgins who was a parent as well as a staff member and all of our lovely parents who came out to support the state of the region I believe some students went to the carnival of the animals on Saturday sometime there can you see can you see all the Bubba wow looks like lots of fun more pictures from the Carnival of the animals who can tell me what animals you see their wow I think that's a turtle and an elephant what do you think and coming up next on Saturday the 24th or I should be Sunday Sunday 20 for the Clippers game and we still have more to come we have the Opera the kid we have Aladdin I can't wait to go to these special events to get my passport stamped and boys and girls we just want to remind you when you get a trip slip please turn it back in right away is the process to get us approved to be able to go on the field trip and the first step is getting the trips back so we can list all the students are going so that we could get the buses that we need restorative fifth here students are coming together to enhance their school Community they're doing conflict resolution and problem solving thank you mr. Ervin for engaging our students and restore have practices here we have all of the dates that mean we need to remember so we are working on our school experience survey and the 22nd which is Friday is a very last day we want all of our parents to complete the survey we are in the red when it comes to the parent survey so parents please please please complete the school experience survey because we want your input we do know how we can improve unless we're told and we don't know we're doing well unless we're told so we use this survey the data from the survey when we write our spsa so we really really need your input and Fry we're going to have our perfect attendance to student of the month of attentive I'm sorry 18th that's today so the perfect attendance incentives for grades K through three will take place and I hear it's arts and crafts 5th graders will be taking their Panorama pictures at 1 on tomorrow we'll have our elac and School site Council also spring picture day and culminating pictures will be on the 21st so please dress to impress and that's Thursday and coffee with the principal will also take place on Thursday at 8:30 and on Friday is our student of the month perfect attendance assembly and then after 4 hey babe we have spring break we're going to be off for a whole week so parents please please please ensure that your kids rest have a good time they read and there's any doctors appointments are appointments necessary awesome time to do it we're also going to be off on April Fool's Day and it's not April Fool but on April 1st for Cesar Chavez holiday there is no school but we must all return on the 2nd on that Tuesday ready for learning also open house and the science fair is coming up really really soon it's April 4th from 4 to 5:30 in addition tools will be bringing boards home to work on those science starting this week also we have a parent Workshop responding to Behavior at 8:30 and a parent Center on the 18th on the 18th we have our bsap community night is it Community night or I'm sorry for beats a parent meeting and then again on the 23rd of April we have Eli and School site Council so let's just take another look at our March calendar we're almost cheer for the month of March is almost at the end of the month so we're going to give you a glimpse into April here we are in April just take a quick glimpse Alright good morning everyone buenos dias a todos we have completed 89% of our parent portal assignments so make sure. absent you have excellent attendance from 6 to 10 days you had basic attendance a chronic attempt if you are 11 or more days we want we don't want as many students in that chronic band right now we currently have 39% of our students and chronic and we can do better but if you notice as we go down in the days 150 days if you miss 13 days you're no less than 13 days you are no longer in crime the month before it was 11:00 and 150 days 13 you can still miss 7 days and being the excellent band boys and girls let's try for a perfect attendance for the rest of this week and the month of April so today is going to be the arts and crafts for a lower grade and those who have perfect attendance for the month of March will have a sports events and look the students will have lots of fun they were playing Uno these are upper grade students who have perfect attendance for the month of February they were having lots of fun playing games so just remember perfect attendance for the month of March the rest of the month we have five days left before spring break and you can participate in our March event which will be held in April let's go attendance all day everyday attendance matter I know we have some classes with already had a a classroom reward there's a lots of ways that you can have a classroom Rewards please make sure you let Miss Gwen or Miss Gonzalez know when your classroom has made the tendons champions here we go attendance kindergarten Miss Parker class had 93 first grade Miss willoughby's class with 96% second grade Miss duenas 100% third grade Miss Leigh 95% gray we had a tie Miss Bella and Miss ye with 96% 5th grade Miss Cortez 99% adulation classes on having the top attendance for last week great job keep up the good work and we haven't had any rainy days yet but we do do Rainy Day raffle if you are here on a rainy day your name goes into a raffle and you have opportunity to win a really neat fries remember when it's raining you wear warm clothes use an umbrella or rain coat we have ordered some some umbrellas just in case you don't have 1 and 3 take extra time to walk and drive safely here we want you here even on rainy days or on hot days because they're come as well all right boys and girls which university will you attend University assisted and so boys and girls we talked about going to a university College every Monday and we also talked about scholarships and financial aid but did you know what financial aid really is well financial aid is the support that you get at student that's that is one of the forms that you fill out before you go on to college so it stands for free application for federal student aid it is used by the government to see if you qualify for Grants work-study and Loans to pay for college the one of them boys and girls is called Cal grant this is a financial aid that does not need to be payback boys and girls this one you get money for going to college or doing well for attending at Cal State Community College or technical school a you see the boys and girls this is one of the financial aid supports that our government gives to us when we do well in school you have to be a resident of California for at least a year you must be a citizen of the United States Army guidelines you must have a GPA that means that you have to have a high GPA do you have to have good high school grades because that shows that you're interested in that you will be successful in college if you put the effort in you will rewarded and guess how much you can get boys and girls between 12000 to $13,000 to pay for your college you don't have to pay back your parents don't have to pay it back so boy Cal grant is a good thing and it can help you for the four years that you are going to need it for your college education so just think about it financial aid this is what we say. It can be paid for it if you want to go to call didn't you join boy school are you can fill out the application the facts. So that you can get free money to go to college and today we're talking about Berkeley the University Working Cow perky it's located in Berkeley California it has about 30,000 students and the cost per year is about $43,000 before financial aid after financial aid you it's $15,000 remember boys and girls are scholarships aside from financial aid and some facts about Cal it was founded on March 23rd 1868 has between 12:41 student-to-faculty ratio and the teachers are boys and girls there about 9 over Prize winners that are faculty members that are teachers there and a disco year Cal was ranked number 1 as a public university worldwide that is an amazing honor in terms of Olympic medals Cal Berkeley student there's a part 121 students route the gold medal 56 who won the silver and 46 who have won the bronze medal and the popular fields and Cal are engineering computer science business social sciences and the Arts the 2020 uc-berkeley has produced a remarkable 107 Nobel laureates making it one of the most prestigious universities in the world in terms of Nobel prizes to eat what happens here is it magic it just feels that way because there is no 10 what will occur when people unsatisfied with the way things are have the courage to imagine a better way and the freedom to turn what could be into what will that makes Bold sinking disruptive ideas and an amazing array of perspectives people and intellectual Pursuits but it's hard to capture something that won't stand still that's Berkeley Berkeley built by the people for the people founded and forever inspired by those who had an Unstoppable drive to build a new state on the western edge we embrace the radical idea of a public university and never look back hundreds of thousands of lives changed for people whose then go out and change the lives of millions more in our state our nation in the world that's Berkeley today's biggest challenges a revolutionary treatment for malaria check unlocking the secrets of the universe been there preserving Mark Twain for Prosperity done that we are always one step a and sometimes that step is too big for words alone to describe we express we interpret we reach further we celebrate and we are some waited for our long tradition of fun for additional excellent driven by a deep desire to do better to do good that's Berkeley life world-changing future building Berkeley I hope one of these 20 universities that we have poking about in the past couple weeks and months have inspired you to select your future goals no cell phone use on campus boys and girls just a reminder re are listening are eagles are paying attention to making sure that all cell phones are put away in their backpacks amazing job at master eagles you know that we have your emergency contact in case if something happens we can contact your parent or Guardian so make sure that you put away your cell phones turn it off put it in your backpack and just know that we are not responsible for any lost or stolen cell phone we saved the responsible and beer back for boys and girls restroom rules once again you will hear it every Monday making sure that our restrooms are safe that are restrooms are clean that is all of our job every time that we use the restroom have to make sure that we use a toilet what paper wisely that we use soft voices inside the restroom that we hold on the flusher we make sure that we wash our hands and that we leave quietly there's no reason to staying in the restroom boys and girls talking in the restroom if you want to wait for your friend you can wait outside while your friend uses the restroom then you go directly back to your classroom or to the play area now it's time for our raffle for students being safe responsible and respectful remember you come to the office during your recess to retrieve your prize so here we hourly rooms 16 congratulations think this is christabel room 12 graduations saline Brown room 6 congratulations Emmanuel Rome 11 congratulation and Maria are Mariah room 16 congratulations Jacobi room 38 congratulation Scarlet room 25 congratulations Adam room 19 congratulations Carly room 28 congratulation and someone with the initials IP in room 32 graduation congratulations boys and girls on being safe being responsible and being respectful now let's make today an amazing day and an awesome week thank you for attending our Monday morning assembly and we'll see you on the playground right now
